More than weekly therapy
Weekly sessions help, but the hours between can feel long. Our intensive outpatient program adds structure across the week so your teen has support at the meal, after school, and in the moments that used to be hardest.
- Step-up to PHP if needed: If IOP isn’t enough, Partial Hospitalization is available in the same clinic.
- Personalized therapy: Your teen works one-on-one with a clinician who knows the specific patterns to interrupt.
- Group sessions: Other teens working on the same things — honest, supportive, and not a lecture.
- Family involvement: You stay in the loop on progress, setbacks, and what helps at home.
Eating disorders we treat
We support teens with eating disorder concerns when outpatient and PHP-level care is the right fit. On the first call, we screen for medical and clinical needs and tell you plainly if a higher level of care should come first.
- Anorexia and restrictive eating: Skipped meals, shrinking food lists, food rules, and fear of weight gain that take over the day.
- Bulimia and binge-purge cycles: Eating that feels secretive or out of control, followed by purging, over-exercise, or shame.
- Binge eating disorder: Episodes of loss-of-control eating followed by distress and attempts to hide the behavior.
- ARFID: Avoidance of food tied to sensory issues, fear of choking or vomiting, or low interest in eating, not body image.
- Co-occurring anxiety, depression, and OCD: The patterns that often sit underneath the eating behavior and keep it locked in.
How we treat eating disorders
We use proven, evidence-based methods and match them to your teen. A few of the main ones:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Identifies the thoughts and behaviors that keep the eating disorder going and builds different responses.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Helps your teen tolerate distress and body-image spirals without acting on them.
Family Therapy
- Brings you into clinical sessions with your teen so the home routine supports recovery between sessions.
A program built for teens
A teen in treatment is not a small adult. Our program rooms, schedules, and clinicians are set up for adolescents , so your teen walks into a space that feels right for their age, not a hospital conference room.
- Adolescent-focused team: Every program, group room, and clinician works with teens, not adapted from adult care.
- In-person and local: Our clinic serves families across Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, and Tempe. Admissions helps you plan the drive before anything is scheduled.
- Built around school: Sessions are scheduled so your teen stays in class, with homework time still intact.
A typical week with us
Your teen comes into the clinic on a set schedule each week. The rhythm is built so therapy happens often enough to interrupt the eating disorder, and so school, sleep, and family time still fit.
- Regular updates for you: You hear what’s working, what’s hard, and what to reinforce at home.
- A consistent weekly cadence: 3 to 5 sessions per week at the same times, so the schedule is predictable for school and home.
- Three kinds of work each week: Individual therapy, group sessions, and family involvement, not all stacked into one day.
- One clinical team across all sessions: Your teen isn’t re-explaining their story to a new face every visit.
Masters-level therapists
Our therapists hold advanced degrees and spend their days with adolescents, so the room your teen walks into is led by someone who knows how an eating disorder shows up at 15, not just on paper.
- Masters-level therapists: Each clinician on the team holds an advanced degree and has experience working with teens.
